We get this question more and more as our audience has expanded: how do you raise money outside of the US? Can you pitch US investors?
The simple answer is no.
If you don’t have a foot in the US, you don’t really stand a chance raising from investors in the US. Why? Because US investors often want deals in their backyard. A company they can see and meet with the founders for coffee. A company that sells to customers they understand.
To talk more about that, Cedric Waldberger joins me today. Cedric is swiss and invests in early-stage technology companies through his venture capital firm, Tomahawk, VC. He’s an entrepreneur himself, and he was involved in the early stages of the Definity foundation, which recently gained Unicorn status.
